Meet the Team > Phillip Ballan Whitfield
Although born in Kent, Philip was brought up and educated in Somerset.
After gaining a first class degree in Accountancy and Finance he trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young. He spent four years in the London Office and two years in the Bristol Office.
In 1990 Philip saw the light and moved to Wells to begin working with his father Peter, at Chalmers & Co.
His training with a large firm has been of benefit when dealing with corporate clients, whilst his experience with Chalmers has expanded his knowledge of small businesses and personal tax.
Despite the demands of three young children, Philip is a keen sportsman, playing golf (single figure handicap) and representing the Mid Somerset Hockey club at Hockey.
