Paul Dix
Appointed to The Board of Directors in October 2010, Paul joined the firm in 1999 after completing an Accounting A-Level and business GNVQ at Strode College.
Initially Joining the firms training programme Paul rapidly gained qualifications with the AAT (The Association of Accounting Technicians), and then the ACCA (The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), finally completing his studies with a scheme offered in association with ACCA and Oxford Brookes University, which resulted in achieving a First Class Honours Degree in Applied Accounting in 2007.
Paul is now a fellow member of both the AAT and ACCA.
Whilst Paul’s main focus is accountancy and taxation and, in partnership with David Winter, the development of our specialist Agricultural service, he has maintained a keen interest in Information Technology and in his role as Practice IT Manager he continues to develop and support our office systems, providing training to our staff and ensuring that we make the optimum use of the software we have and are able to respond rapidly to opportunities to improve the service we offer to our clients.
Paul’s IT expertise played a significant role during the merger of Chalmers & Co and Hucker & Booker in 2002 as this involved the integration of two complex IT systems and data sets and the set up of our network with thirty workstations.
Paul’s expertise enables Chalmers HB to offer IT consultancy services to our clients; advising on a wide range of IT matters as well as the design and implementation of accounting systems and the provision and installation of accounting software of a bespoke ‘or off the shelf’ nature together with ongoing training and support.
Paul lives in Shepton Mallet and when not in the office, can usually be found in the local leisure centre playing badminton or doing some other form of running around! He also enjoys food and isn’t a bad cook!
